Master Food Volunteer Program

MASTER FOOD VOLUNTEER 2020
Virginia Cooperative Extension is looking for qualified applicants to become Master Food Volunteers!
Participants receive comprehensive training over four days:


 Basic nutrition
 Meal planning
 Cooking techniques
 Food safety
 Working with diverse audiences


At the end of the training, participants are equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently help others improve their lives through balanced eating and healthy living. In return, participants commit to 30 hours of volunteer service within one year of the training.
Opportunities for service include health fair displays, food demonstrations at farmers' markets, teaching food safety classes, submitting articles to the media on nutrition on wellness, assisting Extension nutrition programs for youth and adults, and much more!

Training Dates and Location
Fridays, April 7, April 14, April 21, and April 28, 2017 9a.m. – 3 p.m.
King George Citizen Center
8076 Kings Highway
King George, VA
Training Cost
Fee of $100 will include a notebook with educational materials, an apron, a tote bag and light refreshments and lunch each day of the training A limited number of scholarships are available.

1. Download and complete the Master Food Volunteer Application (PDF | 791KB) .
2. Return the completed application by Friday, March 24, 2017 or until class is full.
