The King George County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of King George County improve their lives.

We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

What's New

Private Pesticide Recertification is coming soon for Caroline, King George, Stafford and Spotsylvania !!

If your Private Pesticide License expires on December 31, 2018, you MUST attend a recertification class prior to December 31 to continue to be legitimate to purchase and use restricted use pesticides for another 2 years.

On Thursday, November 29, 9 am – 12 noon, there will be a Private Pesticide Recert in King George at the King George Virginia Cooperative Extension Building, 10087 Kings Highway, King George, VA 22485, and another Private Pesticide Recert on November 29, from 6 pm – 9 pm at the Marshall Center, 8800 Courthouse Rd, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.

To pre-register please call (804) 633-6550 or email broaddus@vt.edu. Pre-registration is appreciated for planning, but not required.

2018 Green Talks program is available for download.  This series of monthly seminars is free except when a small materials fee is required.  We have 2 more programs for 2018--Canning Hints and Tips (August 23) and Plants Mapping (September 20).  See the brochure for more information!
