Family and Community Education Club

The Caroline Family and Community Education Club is part of a national voluntary educational program designed to meet needs and interest of local citizens.  Did you know the National Family & Community Education Association (originally the Extension Homemakers Service) was responsible for putting ratings on T.V. and starting hot school lunches?  For over 70 years, FCE Clubs have made a difference by caring about families and communities.

Caroline County members usually meet once a month at the Main Street Cafe in Bowling Green.  They participate in educational programs like  Educating for Good Health and Someone's in the Kitchen which are lessons prepared by Extension specialists at  Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.  Additionally, members gain job skills for personal and career needs, travel opportunities, money-savings benefits, and a great network that “makes a difference”.   If you are interested in joining us or for more information, please contact Pegi Wright (540) 775-3062 or e-mail at lvwright@vt.edu.
